Creating sustainable leadership in Colorado
We know grant dollars alone can’t solve every problem, so our leadership development programming allows us to take a more active role in developing nonprofit leadership capacity as well as a leadership pipeline, be more in touch with community leaders throughout Colorado, and better evaluate the impact we make across the state.

We believe access and opportunity help people build better lives, and well-equipped leaders create a strong ecosystem of organizational vibrancy and sustainability. El Pomar’s leadership development programs continually develop and enhance leadership throughout the state. These four targeted programs are directed at young leaders, leaders of color, and executives from all sectors.
Fellowship
Who is this for?
Recent college graduates and early career professionals.
We know that giving young leaders an opportunity to grow and learn how to lead in any sector is critical to the long-term success of organizations in Colorado. We created our Fellowship program for recent college graduates and early career professionals to support the pipeline of leadership in our state.
Internship
Who is this for?
Undergraduate students with a Colorado connection.
In an effort to encourage interest in philanthropy among continuing undergraduate college students, El Pomar offers a summer Internship annually to provide nonprofit work experience and professional development.
Elevating Leadership Development
Who is this for?
Leaders of color in southern Colorado.
Elevating Leadership Development (ELD) was created in 2003 to increase access for people of color in Southern Colorado to tap into their leadership potential. Through ELD, El Pomar empowers leaders of color by providing scholarships to leadership development programming, civic engagement and board opportunities, and engagement with community members and grant opportunities.
PeOPLE
Who is this for?
Executive directors, CEOs and other executive leaders across Colorado.
We know that even the best executives can always use additional support in getting the most out of their leadership potential. That’s why we created the Penrose Organizational and Professional Leadership Experience (PeOPLE) – an annual four-day experience for leaders of public, private and nonprofit organizations in Colorado to help produce better organizational results, build and sustain healthy professional relationships and grow your leadership impact.
